Biography
Dr. Aventa was born quite some time ago in Inglewood California and eventually made his way to Texas by way of Kansas City Missouri. Growing up mainly in the North Dallas area, he found a passion for medicine and after attending Austin College for his psychology undergraduate degree ultimately went to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Taking a nontraditional route, he decided to look into both emergency medicine as well as Internal medicine at UPMC in Pittsburgh. There, he ultimately decided that caring for patient’s over time and being involved in their future health was more attractive and completed his Internal Medicine residency. During residency, he joined the Air Force through the Air Force Financial Assistance Program. After residency, he served as an attending physician at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton Ohio and was honorably discharged as a Major in the United States Air Force.
After completing his military service, he brought his young family back to Texas finding a home at Capital Medical Clinic in 2022. During his time at Capital Medical Clinic, he has enjoyed participating in organized medicine having served as the Travis County Medical Society President in 2019 and currently serves on the Texas Medical Association Board of Trustees. He enjoys being involved in the day-to-day care of his patients as well as broader advocacy across the state.
Outside of the clinic, he enjoys routine exercise, playing pickle ball with his wife, and constantly being surprised by his maturing children.
