What led me to a membership model
I am passionate about really knowing and taking excellent care of my patients. I value having time for long conversations when things aren’t going as planned, shedding tears together in the face of grief, getting updates on the kids or grandkids, and sharing hugs at routine visits. All these moments are just as important in maintaining good health as my medical recommendations, and they are completely overlooked by our current reimbursement system. Staying in a purely insurance-based practice would force me to cut down the time I spend with people, and I am simply not willing to do that.
By moving to a membership-based model, we will be able to take the time we need at appointments and you will get quick responses to questions. When you are sick, I will be able to see you or simply address the problem remotely. If you need help navigating our medical system, I will be there. We will be able to dive deep into preventative health and have the time to check in on your progress. It’s the kind of medical care we all want because it just works better.
Biography
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Economics and minors in French and Business. I had a successful career in sales and marketing for start-up technology companies in Austin before making my transition to medicine. I started medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston ten years after graduating from college with two young kids in tow. Ultimately, my family and I returned to Austin where I completed internal medicine residency at Dell Medical School. I joined Capital Medical Clinic in 2020 and quickly assumed an active role in helping manage the group as medical director for the group’s largest Medicare partner. I became an associate managing partner in 2025 and I continue to help drive strategy and operations for the group as part of the executive team.
I am active in advocacy and legislative efforts for the Travis County Medical Society and the Texas Medical Association where I serve on various committees and boards. I have also been a leader for an Austin chapter of “Walk with a Doc” since 2024 where I help organize monthly community walks.
On a personal note…
I spend as much time outdoors as possible, read, travel all over the world, ski, and take photographs. I love sharing my latest reads and adventures in the office with my book and photography collection. I have two high school aged kids who are blazing their way at boarding schools on the east coast and are keeping me busy when they are at home. Beyond any accomplishment or accolade, I feel tremendously grateful for the kind of work I do, for how fulfilling it is to share my love by serving others, and for all the amazing people I meet along the way.
