Services

Our physicians practice in a group to combine their skills into a single professional unit where high quality medical services are readily available.

In this group practice setting, our specialized medical skills are complemented by full diagnostic services as described in this section.

Clinical Lab

One of the most convenient services Capital Medical Clinic offers its patients is our complete CLIA (nationally certified) laboratory. Our state of the art laboratory will draw your blood for all of your lab tests during your appointment. In the case of acute illness, “stat” labs can be drawn and processed while you wait to aid in your diagnosis and prompt treatment.

X-Ray

An x-ray (radiograph) is a painless medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Radiography can diagnose many things, ranging from pneumonia and other lung conditions to broken bones. X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging.

Echocardiography

Echocardiography is a test that uses sound waves to create a moving picture of the heart. Ultrasound imagery is used to evaluate how well the heart muscle is pumping and how the heart valves are functioning. It is also used to determine the presence of many other heart and lung conditions and to follow the function of the heart in relation to treatment programs.

Capital Medical Clinic is pleased to announce that we were granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). Participation in the accreditation process is voluntary. Accreditation status signifies that the facility has been reviewed by an independent agency which recognizes the laboratory’s commitment to quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease.

Treadmill Stress Testing

Treadmill Stress Testing is done with your physician present to provide information about how the heart responds to exertion. It involves walking on a treadmill at increasing levels of difficulty, while the patient is connected to an electrocardiogram. Heart rate and blood pressure are also monitored. Results can help determine whether obstructive coronary artery disease is present. When combined with an echocardiogram, also called a “stress echo”, the test is even more accurate in determining the presence of coronary artery disease.

Pulmonary Function Studies

Capital Medical Clinic has the ability to perform pulmonary spirometry. Spirometry is an important screening test used in the evaluation of many pulmonary symptoms including shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing. Sometimes it can lead to a specific diagnosis such as asthma or can be the first step in guiding your physician in the further evaluation of your symptoms.

Bone Densitometry

Bone density scanning, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) or bone densitometry, is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to look for signs of bone loss. By measuring bone mineral density (BMD), DEXA is today’s established standard for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and related conditions.
